Reasons why I love Japan (and Don't)

Having been to Japan 3 times in the past 3 years, I have gathered up some points on what I love and hate about Japan. While it is an amazing country, there are some points about it which I dislike as well.

LOVE

  1. THE FOOD. Tokyo's food is the best.
  2. the convenience
  3. the shops inside the train station
  4. shopping streets
  5. the scenery
  6. night city lights
  7. amazing customer service
  8. the polite and considerate people
  9. the beautiful language
  10. a safe country
  11. the anime
  12. the music
  13. culture
  14. tourist-friendly (having some English on signs)
  15. the Japanese's fashion sense
  16. we can eat on some trains
  17. the streets are clean
  18. the animal and themed cafes
  19. the billboards lights at night

DON'T LOVE

  1. the confusing train stations. the number of exits and lines are crazy. especially Tokyo.
  2. those small bars that can't accommodate a big family when traveling
  3. Japanese people can't really speak English so we gotta learn a few Japanese phrases to survive
  4. kanji. I can't read them. The Japanese language is so hard to learn; hiragana, katakana, and kanji.
  5. the hotels are very small and cramped. expensive as well.
  6. some items are expensive
  7. the clothes they sell are normally small-sized. they don't have bigger sizes.
  8. the expensive train and bus fare
  9. rush-hour at train stations. the people. omg.
  10. work culture. I heard it's strict.
  11. the items in their shopping malls are usually expensive.
  12. their trains are too quiet
  13. sometimes, rubbish bins are hard to find. so we have to keep our trash with us until we can find one.
