Food Souvenirs you MUST buy in Japan

Food Souvenirs you MUST buy:

These are my favorite souvenirs from Japan (including drinks):

1. Tokyo Rusk

It is a hard biscuit with different flavors and I've only tried the original almond flavor and sakura flavor. Trust me, get the almond flavor. There's a reason that that flavor is the best selling. It was so yummy and I cry because I can't get in Singapore or Osaka when I went.

2. Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory

These are soft biscuits with milk cheese filling in between the biscuits and I like the original salt and Camembert flavor. It tastes heavenly and a must buy if you love milk and cheese.

3. Milk and Milk Coffee

Japan's milk items are just delicious. I am someone who loves the taste of coffee but doesn't like bitterness so I often drink milk coffee. I've tried many brands of milk coffee before and so far, the cafe au lait from glico is the best! There is a just nice balance between the milk and coffee and I just can't get enough of it. It can be found easily in convenience stores in Japan but unfortunately, I can't find it in Singapore. Oh, and for milk, buy anything from Meiji because they're all delicious.

5. Umaibo

This is a corn snack with many flavors; original corn, cheese, barbecue etc. My favorite is the original and cheese flavor. They're just delicious. <3

6. Shiroi Koibito

These are biscuits with white chocolate fillings. It is absolutely delicious and sinful for your weight. They're not cheap, but they are worth the money.

7. Gramercy New York Cheesecake

Their baked cheesecakes in the below black packaging are delicious. It has a slightly orangey taste which I assume they added orange zest in it. They can be found in department stores with a nice cake display and a black wall with its name on it. I'm not sure if they're only available in Tokyo or not, because I couldn't find it in Osaka.

8. Kitkat

It's Kitkat wonderland in Japan. Just buy every flavor guys. They're all nice.

9. ROYCE Chocolate

Again, just buy all. I like dark chocolate, it's not too sweet nor too bitter.

10. Orihiro Jelly

These are legit delicious. I buy them every time I see it in Japan. They're quite cheap, about $4-5 per pack of 6 pieces. There's a bigger packet of 12 pieces with 2 flavors inside for a higher price. I've tried many flavors and my favorites are peach, lychee, green grape, and purple grape.

11. Morinaga Baked Cheese

One bite into this, and you will feel the creamy cheese and milk fill your mouth. Yes, it's that good and it only costs $2.

12. Pocky

Buy all. Yes. Just like Kitkai, Pocky has many flavors and you'll eat until you drop!

12. Tohato Caramel Corn

The flavors they have are normal caramel, chocolate, chocolate mint,  fruit parfait and many more. I personally like the original caramel <3

13. Bourbon Alfort Biscuits

I've only tried the original (blue) milk chocolate one and I love it.

14. Itoen Hojicha Oi Ocha

Instead of the normal green tea, Hojicha is roasted green tea. As the name states, the green tea has a roast taste, which is different from the usual bitter green tea taste and I love it. I also buy at least 5 boxes to bring back to Singapore. Now that Donki is opened in Singapore, I don't have to bring back so many from Japan but it's more expensive in Singapore.

Can't think of anymore at the moment. Will update when I do! Last update: 12/04/2020
